OK so due to some friends who missed reading my xanga to see what’s going on in my life (what too lazy to pick up the phone and call me? haha) I’ve decided to make a comeback. Dealing with a breakup is always hard but I’ve managed to cope by working out (amazing how being single really motivates you to go to the gym) and hanging out with friends. I really wanted to make it work because of the investment of 2 years and 8 months of my life but in the end I think he was right…maybe we are just too different. I hope that someday we can be friends again because I do miss having him in my life. So what have I been up to since I last posted? I’m definitely not the type to sit at home and mope so I’ve been out and about. Here’s a synopsis:
- hiking Temescal Canyon loop in the Pacific Palisades…great ocean views and a small waterfall…good workout
- Kathy’s bday dinner at Asia de Cuba in the Mondrian hotel…drinks at the Skybar afterwards…met Michael Vartan who is way hotter in person
- happy hour at Schatzi on Main in Santa Monica…$3 drinks and appetizers from 4-7:30pm…owned by Arnold Schwarzenegger
- work dinner meeting at the Proud Bird by LAX
- sushi at Komeyoshi…thanks Sam!
- Junko’s bday winetasting in Temecula…visited Maurice Car’rie Winery (bought a bottle of their white zin), VR La Cereza (which is next door…you can get a passport for tasting at both for $12), and Mount Palomar (great cheeses). Dinner was at Front Street Bar & Grill in Old Town. Afterwards we went to Club Silk at Pechanga which is actually really nice…very similar to Vegas clubs.
- free lift ticket to Big Bear Mountain…I love how the whole mountain is like a terrain park…snow wasn’t that great though…dinner afterwards at Claim Jumpers in Brea (portions here are too big)…a real gentleman is someone who not only pays for his girlfriend but her friend too

- first weekend in Mammoth with fresh powder…too bad I didn’t have my facemask so it was too cold…dinner at Hennesseys and drinks at Dublins in the Village…usual stop at Schats on the way back
- boss took the department out to all you can eat sushi at Onami
- seafood at King’s Fish House in Long Beach….cigars, port, brandy, shooting pool, and salsa dancing at Club Cohiba
- body shots and dancing at Busby’s in Santa Monica
- dinner at the Crepe Vine Bistro in Old Town Pasadena…the Stragonoff and the La Mer crepes were so good…we also did the wine tasting with 4 flights and escargot for appetizers
- drinks at the Chalet in Eagle Rock for St. Patty’s day…too bad they didn’t have green beer…very small laid back place reminiscent of a ski lodge
- rock climbing at Malibu Creek…we climbed by the dam…lots of good sport leads (5.8-5.10)…afterwards we had thai food at Cholada in Malibu…yummy!
- my friend invited me to try speed dating at Cafe Boogaloo in Hermosa Beach…it was a bit overwhelming…2 minutes each with 40 people…fun way to network and meet new friends.
- Annie and Kim’s wedding at Il Cielo in Beverly Hills…the ceremony was so romantic and the bride was gorgeous…open bar and the cake was delicious. Congratulations to such a cute and wonderful couple!
- visited a friend at St. John’s…she’s getting her appendix removed, ouch
- dinner at Club Sushi in Hermosa…drinks and dancing at Sharkeez and the Lighthouse Cafe
- hiking Temescal Canyon loop in the Pacific Palisades…great ocean views and a small waterfall…good workout

ur A busy lady
I, too, have vascillated between quitting and continuing with my daily life as I’ve always lived it. In the end I’ve decided to keep on trudging because how else do we move on? Xanga, to me, is quite therapeutic, and I’m glad you made the decision to stay! =) It looks like you’re keeping busy which is good: I’m starting to get used to being a sometimes loner since I was always used to being with someone for the last seven years of my life. It’s funny how easily we can fill up those hours if we wanted to. Anyway, thanks for reading! I look forward to reading more entries.
Chan is drivingus to the airport… =) so no need.. i will meet you at LAX… i cant’ wait to get there and just forget about reality for a few days… much needed for all of us i think
oh is that why you left? Sorry to hear that… but then again a lot of times I’ve seen you in pics without your bf (or ex now, I guess?). Well, anyway, it’s ok… life goes on. Don’t think about what could’ve went right, how much time went by, etc. Just worry about the time that you DO have left
.
Life goes on, good that you’re keeping yourself occupied, PLUS glad you’re back on xanga.
omg it’s about TIME you’re back girl!!! xanga isn’t the same without you. I’m sorry to hear about your break up but you know, it sounds like you’re carrying on in a healthy way. Good for you!
now i can get more restaurant selections from you!
OH MY…I’m sorry about the break up, dear…I AM glad you’re back on xanga, though. What are you doing this Saturday? I need to get your number…or maybe you can get mine from Cherylee or vice versa…xoxo I’m glad you’re keeping busy…what gym do you belong to? Maybe we can work out together? I need motivation!
As for the BF thing…I’m trying to get used to NOT going out as much…lol…perhaps we all can party once in awhile. ::hugs::
quitting xanga is too hard, i’ve too made too many unsuccessful attempts. WB!
whoa wtf..
ahh well.. gym time is definitely a good thing..
still going to miami? it’s gonna be RIDICULOUS there!!
Also, sorry to hear about your breakup. Honestly, it caught me by surprise from your guys’ xangas. But I guess people never really write the ‘behind the scenes’ stuff…
glad to see you back. hope you recover well from the ex. i’ve been wanting to go to the proud bird!
come out on tue!
i’m sorry to hear about the break up
… but from what you’ve written, you’re on the right track i.e. keeping busy
also i’m gald you’re back. i hatedthe fact that my LA Expert left.
Glad you’re back! Although I’m too lazy to write anything myself. Have fun and keep writing! Love your weblinks.
ugh…breakups suck. soory to hear, sweetie.
lol…i always pay for the lady and her friends…
sorry about the breakup hon.. *hugs* i’m glad that you are ‘renewed’…surrounding yourself with good friends and keep yourself busy. =) take care..
well I’m glad to see you’re back…and smiling. Thanks for the birthday wishes…we still have to meet up sometime for drinks! …sorry to hear about the breakup but I’m sure you had some good times too
…you’re a strong girl so I’m sure you’re bouncing back full force!
it’s hard to come to this type of realization especially when it’s with a decent guy (i broke up with my bf of 2 years for similar reasons last fall). we just had different aspirations. it’s been a few months now and i realize that it was for the better…i’m sure you’ll realize as well, just be sure to have your friends (and a drink in hand) to relish in your newfound singleness.
i wish i could’a read this before i went to Santa Monica and LA.
You did ALL that recently??? geez.. I don’t think I do that much in a year! haha….
sorry about the break up.. good for you for keeping busy!
hey girlie! sorry to hear about the breakup. i didn’t get a season pass to mammoth, I just go all the time and spend a ton of money on my trips. it sucks, but i’m so addicted.
ive noticed that most ppl quit xanga or move pages after a break up. i’m the same.
but anyways. like everybody above. i’m really glad yr back. i’ve always valued yr rational, down to earth attitude and useful advice and comments.
breakups are never easy to get over with and I’m quite surprised you’re back.
however, i’m glad you’re taking it better these days and hopefully more so later on. so i’m not gonna be all “sorry about the breakup” business. i know things are ok and it’s for the better. differences are called differences for a reason. as much as we all want to work at it, when it’s different…it’s different. so i wish you both the best. hopefully you guys can reunite as friends again down the road. take care serina.
i can’t believe you met MICHAEL VARTAN, i am so jealous!
i hope you’re taking care… i’m always here if you need me! *hugs
cheryl =)
glad to see you back! looks like you’ve been keeping yourself super busy! hope you’re hanging in there…breakups are always though.
WOW you’ve done alot. Maybe its better for self development this way
yep hope to see you at LACMA!
