Whatever happens in Vegas…
PURE…Got into Vegas about midnight and headed straight for Pure @ Caesar’s Palace. The dance floor was so packed you could barely move let alone dance and there were so many rude people just pushing and bumping into us. I remember going there last year and it was a lot more fun because we hung out with this group of guys that had VIP so we weren’t being jostled all night. Jaime Pressly had her birthday in the Pussycat Dolls lounge.
Empire Ballroom…After Pure we headed over here for afterhours. They have two rooms…the main one where they play techno and a smaller room where they play hip hop. The hip hop room was so ghetto, lolz. They had a nice smoking patio though where they played house. Got back to our room at 6AM.
Brunch and Pool…ate at Cafe Bellagio. The portions were pretty big and the omelette I ordered was really good. Afterwards we headed over to the pool at Treasure Island. I have never seen so many people in the pool before. It was so hot and the water was just lukewarm so it hardly even cooled us down.KA…got tickets to the earlier show. I was pretty disappointed…of the three Cirque du Soleil shows I’ve seen, the other ones being Mystere and Zumanity, I liked Ka the least. The story line is pretty slow…I was really tired and actually dozed off for a little bit. There wasn’t as many acrobatic stunts either. They had a couple interesting parts but overall I would recommend watching the other shows first.
TAO…this is still one of my favorite clubs in Vegas. It’s huge and beautiful inside plus it’s all air conditioned. We saw Josh Duhamel…he’s so hot! Too bad we didn’t get a chance to check out Tao Beach.
Tryst…the line to get in was
insane. Luckily being girls we bypassed all that. The club wasn’t as
big as I thought but the huge waterfall they have is pretty cool. Our
feet were hurting so bad from our uncomfortable heels but luckily we
talked to some Australians who let us sit at their table. They were on
vacation for two months…I was so envious of them traveling for so
long.Drais…headed here for my favorite afterhours club in Vegas. If I had to pay cover and wait a long time in line, I don’t think I would go clubbing that much…I actually feel bad for guys. A couple jaegar bombs and I was pretty happily buzzed. Got back to the room at 8AM.
It sucked to have to check out by noon. We had lunch at Harrah’s Cafe and then I had some oyster shooters at the Oyster Bar that were so good. I liked how they flavored them differently. Left Vegas around 3pm and didn’t get back to LA until 11pm…ugh.

Seemed like everyone went to vegas over the weekend. My friends went into Pure at the same time you did. I arrived the morning after. We stayed at MGM and went to the Playboy Club saturday night @ the Palms. It was actually pretty good. But I wasn’t used to paying the cover charges anymore. $30 for guys, 20 for the girls. 8 hr trip back home seems lengthy, than usual. It took us about 4 hrs. to get back despite some traffic.
Looks like you had a great time. Last time I was in Vegas I went to Pure and it was extremely packed. I realized the only way to get some room to move is be at a VIP table. They really over pack that place. haha I ate a Drais before they turn it into a club and the food is pretty good.
I still need to check out Tao…and lord…you know I get grossed out by oyster shots!

You hit up all the hot spots in one weekend. I think KA is a BIG disappointment. I want to see LOVE next. I’m a huge Beatles fan so it should be coo. That Sunday drive back must’ve sucked. Oh wells…I’m sure it was a nice break from LA. I’m going to go there myself this weekend. Wish me luck at the tables and at the clubs. haha

thats a pretty busy weekend. getting back at 6am and going out for brunch…wow. i’d be up around dinner time. i need to check out vegas – i actually haven’t been there yet.

Yeah I didn’t hear good things about Ka, so I didn’t check that out. Watched mystere last month, awesome stuff. Best one to watch is O!

i got in vegas a bit late, and didn’t have internet access either. but sounds like you had a lot of fun.
ryc: definitely take lessons. it probably doesn’t hurt to ask around about lessons to see what people think of the various instructors.
kiting is a ton of fun. actually, most kiters are willing to help people out and there are always kiters at the beach. well, in la if you don’t see people kiting, then there is some problem and you probably shouldn’t try at the time either. definitely let me know if you end up taking lessons and need some help at the beach.
its actually probably not a bad idea to talk someone else into taking lessons also. beginners often spend a lot of time close to the beach, but after a while you end up spending most of the time out in the ocean.
i definitely need to go on some more outdoor trips…
soooooo very true.. your comment… yep, i like being “in love”…. so i get butterflies easily… then the butterflies go away and i really fall in love, or i get annoyed, or i get HURT!…. usually the second one… sad but true
