  • Happy Hour and a Movie...went to Pig N' Whistle in Hollywood and had the appetizer sampler and a liter of beer.  They literally serve it to you with your own private tap, lolz.  Afterwards went to go watch Bourne Ultimatum at the Arclight.  I actually don't like sitting inside the dome...assigned seating sucks when you end up stuck behind someone tall, you can't move to another seat.  I read all the books by Robert Ludlum so I was really excited to see it.  Really great action...highly recommend going to watch it.

Running...continuing with the exercise trend but since we got a late start ended up going to Polliwog Park in Redondo Beach.  They have a cute little lake with lots of ducks and a playground where we pretended to be kids again going on the slides and playing on the swings

    Weekday Clubbing
...less crowded and crazy than on the weekends.  Went to Area (used to be Prey) in West Hollywood.  The only reason I went was for the open bar.  They were promoting Hard Water vodka...not very good but hey it was free.  I noticed that girls are way more dressed up now when they go out...I felt really under dressed in just jeans and a tank top.

Galleries...went to the Downtown Art Walk which is held every second Thursday of the month.  The galleries have free admission from 12-9pm and there is a shuttle that takes you around. Our first stop was at Regent Gallery where they had nice landscapes and photos.  Next we walked over to Pharmaka where they were serving free wine. The art here was a little more contemporary but with hefty price tags in the thousands.  Across the street was Bert Green Fine Art where they had the Trace Evidence exhibit by Osseus Labyrint.  Very interesting nude pieces.  After that we went to Red Dot Gallery which also serves hot dogs along with being able to view pieces of art containing rat skulls and a drawing on the hood of a classic car.  Last on our list of places to visit was Continental Gallery where they had an opening party consisting of free food and booze.  They had a delicious ravioli and sandwiches from Metropole Cafe and beef wrapped in rice paper rolls from E3rd.  I realized that wine makes me very sleepy

Friday...decided to check out Boulevard 3 in Hollywood.  They have a gorgeous outdoor lounge.  Arguably one of the most beautiful places in LA.  They had tarot card readers, voodoo doll makers and a guy dancing on stilts.  I thought it would be a more chill place but later on the dance floor inside got pretty crowded.

Mountain Biking...I'm really getting some use out of my bike yay.  We did the Westridge trail again but this time we did a loop and came down Sullivan Canyon.  I love downhill single track...I was perhaps a little too excited since I ended up crashing twice...I now have some new sexy scars to show off, haha.

Brunch...went to Prizzi's Piazza in Los Feliz.  I love sitting outdoors and listening in on other people's conversations...er I mean people watching, lolz.  I tried a frittata which is an Italian omelette that is cooked on a skillet and then cooked in an oven and served open instead of folded.  Their french toast also tastes different since they use fresh brioche bread.

Game Night...we had a little potluck dinner and played games at a friend's place.  It's so much cheaper to drink at a house party, lolz.  Practiced my new bartender skills making everyone B-52 shots.  We played rummy dummy, Cranium, and Taboo.  It was guys versus girls with the end result being a tie.

Lazy Sunday...slept in and missed a planned bike ride.  I was so tired since I had been going out all week.  Didn't do anything all day except starting to read the Harry Potter book and going to a firestation for dinner.  That was cool since it was my first time inside a firestation.  The one we went to was huge!  They even had their own private home entertainment theatre with two rows of reclining leather chairs and a large flat screen.  I tried on the heavy jacket and oxygen tank while carrying one of the hoses...man that stuff is heavy!  I can see why most of the firemen are in such great shape.  Too bad I didn't get a chance to slide down the pole, hehe.  Had a late night snack at Skooby's...I really need to learn how to make that sauce for the fries.  Was so lazy...ended up not going out to watch the meteor shower either

  • So eventful as always. :) Yeah...i love weekday clubbing. I was at Area two weeks ago. So fun...I prefer weekday clubbing since it makes the week go so much faster. I agree, ppl are a bit dressy these days at the club. I think it has always been like this though...i've just been too relaxed with my jeans as well. game night sounded like a good time, but a tie? haha..how funny.

  • a tie? you can't have game night and end up in a tie

  • lol...if my schedule wasn't already so packed, i def woulda called. would be awesome to see you guys again.

btw, when you coming up? email/call me.

  • hehe for me clubbing is crowded on any night... probably cuz of the small space :)

  • wow it seems like you do a lot more than i do.... haaahahaa....

  • err, will show up to events more, or at least make an effort to, lol
that reminds me, we need to finalize our labor day plans -_-'

  • i cant believe you are ever able to fit so much stuff into your weeks / days . . . makes me feel incredibly lazy

  • hahah game night for me would be poker!

  • Wow.. A packed schedule as usual...

  • forgot to tell you... Jamie's on xanga too... jlee0909

  • wow i've never been weekday clubbing. last time i was out weekend clubbing all the girls were in full on cocktail dresses. i have however crashed on single track. :) i was out in the desert for the meteor shower and it was amazing when you saw one, but i was out for hours and only saw a couple really bright streamers.

  • ryc: I did Baldy today. It took me 3:15 to get to the top. Given that Baldy was only 10 miles with no overnight gear at a lower elevation I think realistically, I probably need to do some more training before doing a 3-day, 45 mile trip with overnight gear. I'd rather not slow down the group or cause a problem with making the goal. Definitely let me know about future trips though.

  • Yay, you're xanga-er too.  Yeah, sure was fun.  We gotta go again for sure, but I promise I won't throw up next time.  I'll be more prepped up.  :)

Wow, looks like you had a blast on the weekend!
