  • Catalina Day Trip

On the Catalina Express...we upgraded to the Commadore's lounge...not really worth it but you do get a free drink and a snack and they board you faster.

The 3.5 mile bike ride up to the Botanical Gardens...going up sucked but downhill was really fun!  It was only $10 to rent a bike for the whole day.

We had a lunch of hamburgers and hot dogs at Coney Island West.  Then we rented a kayak for 2 hours.  It was fun watching people flip over, racing, and splashing each other, haha.  For dinner, we enjoyed great food and badinage (Word of the day meaning light, playful talk; banter) at Armstrong's Seafood Restaurant...really good shrimp cocktail and calamari.

Sunday we went for dim sum at Empress Pavilion in Chinatown.  This is now my new favorite dim sum place...their cha siu bao is so soft and yummy.  You can even order boba from the carts   And it was cheap too...I was full and it was only $9 with tip!

After that, went to go meet up with another friend at Cabana Club, which used to be the Sunset Room but now has a newly remodeled patio boasting private VIP cabanas and 2 small waterfalls.  It was so hot that it was nice to cool your feet in the mini pool.

    Free sushi lunch today...yay!
